Color Grade refers to the natural body color of a gemstone. The less color gemstone shows, the higher its value. NEO grading uses a color grading scale based upon the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) diamond color grading scale, and we can break it down into two groups: E-F: Colorless or “Icy White” G-H: Near-Colorless, with some faint hues of color noticeable only under magnification.
CLARITY
Clarity Grade is a measure of the gemstone’s imperfections known as internal inclusions and surface blemishes. Almost all gemstones have inclusions, but for NEO, its inclusions are not visible to the naked eye.
The clarity of a gemstone is graded depending on the number of imperfections it has, and it varies from Flawless (FL) to Included (I).
NEO Gemstones come in at a mind-blowing VVS+ clarity grade that diamonds only wished for. Meaning they are virtually internally flawless!
CUT
Cut indicates not the shape but the balance of proportion, symmetry, and polish of a gemstone. Therefore, the degree of how well the gem is cut directly relates to its overall beauty. It also relates to its ability to reflect and refract light.
With high cut grades, light can easily travel throughout the stone and make it sparkle. However, poorly cut gemstones will not allow light to travel efficiently throughout the stone, resulting in a bland-looking jewel. The Cut Grade
NEO’s Cut Grade is only Excellent (which is the highest Cut grade). The stone is precisely calibrated and hand-cut by a master craftsman to create maximum brilliance and spark.
CARAT
The standard measuring unit of a Diamond is Carat (1 carat = 0.2 grams). Taken by itself, carat weight does not determine a diamond’s value. For Example, two one-carat stones can vary widely in price when clarity, color, and cut are considered.
NEO is slightly lighter than a diamond because it is less dense. For Example, a 6.5mm round cut diamond weighs 1.0ct while a 6.5mm round cut NEO weighs 0.97ct. That is a pretty close number (if you compare other gems made of SiC, this number will be much lower). We could achieve it only by a specific cut and faceting of the stone.
To avoid any confusion, we sell our Gemstones by their actual size in mm, and the Diamond Equivalent Weight in carats (DTW).
